Kennedy Plaza Wayfinding Refresh
Kennedy Plaza is the main transfer node for the Rhode Island Public Transportation Agency (RIPTA). Along with a refresh of several other customer-facing elements such as the system map and route schedule pamphlets, I was approached to refresh the bus stop signage for this important transit hub. Previous bus stop flags had inconsistent styles and spacing and low color contrast, making it hard to spot routes from a distance. The refresh sought to unify each element with the new look rolling out elsewhere in the agency and update the flags, terminal map, and route ladders with an easier-to-scan design philosophy. I also created vector artwork to fill the emergency notice area of the signage assembly to brighten the area when no notices were posted. The following are examples of review lockups showing each element of each bus stop bay.

During the review process, it was necessary to assembly in-progress work into the shape of the sign to provide a full picture of how elements came together.
